Les Spear

Country Music Clubs and Festivals

  An autobiography….

Although now an internationally recognised singer/songwriter, Les didn’t pick up the guitar until  his 30’s after leaving the army.

He eventually formed a band and took it to the finals of the prestigious Country Music Talent Contest at Morecambe. Using all original material they came away with first prize.

He has made numerous radio and TV appearances, his latest being on the prime time Antiques Trail where they used his song of the same name.

The highly respected ‘Country Music People’ magazine reported that his songs were the strongest of the evening at an international line up of singer/songwriters held in London.

A popular Texas magazine featured him on their front cover, giving him rave reviews and stating that his album ‘Close to the Edge’ shows he is a man who demands attention with talent to burn.

Two of his songs - The Speed she said Goodbye’ - a co-write with Barry Lowe and his self penned ‘Rock in the Country’ spent lengthy stays in the USA and European charts in 2004. Yet another two of his songs are included in a British Line Dance album which was available nationwide.

Les has performed his songs in Texas where they were enthusiastically received along with invitations to tour there and to spend time at the Entertainment News Corporation.

Les Spear’s commitment to producing an excellent sound with quality country songs of his own superb original material, unusual contemporary numbers and great old songs, will endear him to concert and dance venues alike.
